The Terrible Ten is a fond nickname for the litter born as a brainstorm of Kathy Armato’s. She chose to breed the lovely Hallie to Norris. The litter is co-bred by Kathy, Andrea Myers,and Northwind as a collaboration. Andrea, Hallie’s owner, and Kathy both were unable to whelp a litter at that point in time, so as owner of the stud dog, I was persuaded it would be a wonderful idea for me to raise the litter.

 

 

The resulting litter has been truly wonderful, but raising them for the first twelve weeks would not be considered a picnic.

 

 

At first it was easy – Hallie did all the work, but then things began to change… Picture ten puppies growing up during the dead of winter totally confined to the house. Terrible Ten Ladies:

Ch Northwind Drops of Jupiter De Sud, Fch  – “Juno” had a wonderful 2013. She was BOW at the National Specialty under Mary Beth Arthur. She took two more majors and an specialty Award of Merit at the Tulsa South Central specialty weekend under breeder judges Dana Cline and Desmond Murphy and finished in June. Late in the summer she ventured into lure coursing and finished her ASFA Fch title quickly. She is not only beautiful, but fast and talented. See more about Juno on her individual page. Ch Northwind Phoenix Rising De Sud – “Phoenix” started her show career with a bang, taking a major at six months and going on that day to a Best Bred by in Show. Northwind’s Saving the Best for Last De Sud – “Lydia” has both majors, owner handled by Kathie Loeffler. Lydia is quite the princess. Her ladies in waiting are Kathie and her daughter Lisa, in Roseville, MN. Click on Lydia to see more about her.

 

 

 

Ch Northwind’s Pebble Beach De Sud, Fch  – “Pebbles” finished in limited showing with a BOB over specials and a Group Two from the puppy class. She is a cooperative and showy girl in the ring, but really shines on the coursing field. She was Best In Field in the  Minnesota Cup this year – the first Northwind whippet to do so. She is owned by Irene Mullauer, Duluth, MN.

 

 

 

 

Northwind’s River Myst De Sud -“Tempe” has eight points with a major. She lives with her dam and Andrea Meyer, co-breeder of the litter in Santa Rosa, CA.

GCh Northwind’s Decisive Moment De Sud – “Dash” took back to back majors his first two days in the ring, owner handled by Robin Exsted of Becker, MN. He finished easily with four majors. Northwind’s Tango De Sud, Fch  – “Tango” was the first to finish his ASFA FCH.  He has twelve points and three majors owner handled. He lives with Sandy and Tom DePotty in MN. Click here for Tango.

 

Northwind’s Side Kick De Sud Fch – “Ollie” is known for his outrageous personality and addiction to his favorite chewies – antlers. Northwind’s Dreamwalker De Sud – “Walker” lives with Mary Jane and Marvin Fagalde in Kelseyville, CA. He has two points owner handled and has been shown only on a limited basis.
